The Chardonnay DOC from Alois Lageder Winery in Margreid (South Tyrol) comes from organically cultivated vineyards in Margreid, Kurtatsch, Salurn, and Buchholz at an altitude of 210–650 m. The soils are predominantly calcareous. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and the wine is aged on fine lees for about four months.
In the glass, it shows a radiant straw yellow with a greenish shimmer. The nose reveals subtle aromas of peach, melon, and citrus fruits, accompanied by floral and mineral notes. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, balanced, fruity, and juicy with a dry finish.
